Whilst I was a very happy citizen on strangeobject.space, their early decision to never federate with Threads.net never really sat easy with me. None of us at the time knew for certain how things would pan out and I knew several accounts there that I definitely wanted to follow. I wanted to make my own federation decisions.
Of course, having moved to my very own mastodon server (thanks Masto.host!) and now that Mark Suckerberg's true values are coming into view, announcing today a whole host of measures that will make association with any of Meta's platforms truly unacceptable, I can now re-evaluate the choices that I made.
I'm very happy I was able to "wait and see" but I'm also very happy to now say that I will be defederating norfolk.social from Threads.net
I'd say "Fuck you Mark" but it seems I wouldn't be the first to say so...
